I keep reading online that the 2k Classic can sample at 22k. Is this for real or a load of crap? I havn't been able to find it in the manual or the machine.

The sample rate is fixed at 44.1 khz. If you want to halve the sample rate, pitch up the source by an octave, then pitch it back down in the mpc - or record a wav at 22 khz and load it into the mpc.
