Is there a way to isolate a bassline from a sample on the MPC2000 classic? By using filter and tune settings?

The way I do it:
- eq the sample on my mixer
- sample it
- filter it
- eq again with the eb board
-> if not to my liking I process the bass track further when I multitracked it to cubase.

when i lower the tune, it plays slower. and when i lower the frequency, it gets lowered volume
