...Insert MPC 2000xl version 1.00 boot ROM!

I downloaded the latest OS to floppy at my local library and put the disk in the MPC. The drive starts to work and then I get this message

"insert MPC 200XL disk!"

"insert MPC 2000XL version 1.00 boot ROM!"

I'm guessing that I need to find the first version of MPC 2000xl OS before the new version? Unless there is something I don't know. Does anyone know where I can find this version to download? I did a couple searches, to no avail.

If anyone (Rohan?) has any info or tips for me, please let me know.

I'm pretty sure I did, the file was a pdf. and there was a MPC2000xl bin file when I double clicked the MPC file it was like this is a .bin file can't open it or whatever, so yeah I'm pretty positive I did

could you point me in the right direction to get that Rohan? or should I contact VST?

I thought that the new operating systems are for zip drives (1.14) and multi card readers (1.2) to communicate with the pc.
Why did you want upgrade then ?
Maybe I am missing something but it just doesn't seem necessary to upgrade the OS.

I'm not upgrading, just trying to turn the damn thing on to make some beats....it's acting like old equipment that needs an OS on disc to start, but the newest OS doesn't work, it still reads that it needs 1.0 boot rom sooooo here I sit broken hearted.....
