MPC2000XL is Changing the Sequence File Name?

So my friend is having a problem with his 2000XL with Zip Drive. When he makes a beat and goes to save it under Save All Sequences & Songs it Saves but then when you reload the beat it changed the sequence file to
Save All Sequences & Songs.M6 and will give an error message that says
"File not found" What the hell is M6?

I think you mean All Sequences and Songs, cause as far as I know there is no option for All Sequences and Sounds in the 2000 xl model.

Is your friend saving All Programs and Sounds as well and in the same folder (the best way to keep the stuff organized on the disk in my opinion).

Did he try to change the All Sequences and Songs file name while saving to something very simple and short ? Maybe it will help.

Yeah he saves the same way I save my stuff and I have never had this problem. He is still getting the error message. The file still says All Sequences & Songs.M6

i get something like that too, really rare. it'll just add an m6 or n6 on the end of my .snd files and it won't load

Yeah well now he is really screwed cause he can't load his sequences! I have never heard of this happening from anybody on here.

i've had it happen with the occaisional snd file. i had the same file saved as wave, too. So I load it instead. I would love to find out what this is, and why it happened.
