using reason with the 2kxl

i use reason with my xl

i have use all the 1- inputs of reason.

my sound card is the 2496 1 midi in one out.

what i would like to know is

once i have set up reason and made a seq with its sounds (which i have no problem) then i want to layer using my soft synths with overlaping chords, the problem i have is with the soft synth midi in so it will play notes.


ive tryed using reason on track seq channels say one to five and then using a fm7 cube moog 's on different channels but in each soft synth the input only has the name of my sound card. in the fms inputs section it has tick boxes for the in puts so if i untick all the channels im using in reason it sould leave the rest for the synts to use but this doesnt happen..

should i buy a midi spliter or another midi device as so i can use all 32 midi channels on the 2kxl 16 for reason 3.0 and the rest would each have one .. what should i do ? have i overlooked something

and one other thing

every ine says dr dre usees 3 mpc 3000 daisy chained togeather as so he doesnt have to keep changing disks.

i assume he uses a sound out from each to a mixer as to record all three.......

but how does he start them all at the SaMeTiMe to program beats
and the same to record.

is there a play start thingy like on the poineer mixers

or does he ave three hands???

havin a similar problem with reason cant really help u on that.

but i suspect dre syncs all 3 mp's togetha so when he press's play on one they all play.

have you got the midi data to record onto your mpcs sequencer or is it recording it onto reason sequencer????
