Tried everything imaginable to install SCSI HD, no luck....

It is amazing how little good information is available about this problem I am having. My HD (A WD9150) 9.1 GB HD is ready to go external. It registers on the MPC every time I fire it up with all the information. I have tried formating it with every different partition size almost and on different SCSI ID#s but every effin time it says error at 0000:D29C and the machine locks up after that. What else can I do to make this damn thing work, I've searched everywhere on the net for answers.....

I forgot to mention I get the exact same message on each of the 3 SCSI hard drives I have. The MPC can see all of these drives, it just will NOT format any of them. Heeelppppp

could it be a problem with the OS? maybe try downloading and installing the OS on a new disk and pop it in and see if it helps...that sometimes helps with weird problems

My guess is your MPC is incompatible with the harddrives. It's not like any scsi harddisk will be recognized by your MPC.

The Hard Drive I was certain would work was this one here, which I bought and have tried.

I am going to try ad reinstall the OS, I was thinking about that, it could be a problem. Anything else I should try if that doesn't work?

By the way this is a 2000xl MCD model, how could it not work with any HDs?

Just so everybody knows, os reinstall fixed everything, it was great!!!!

Happy to hear you found a solution. What os did you install and how much space do you see as available on your harddisk ?
