how would i go about sampling notes off a keyboard?

i'm having a lil trouble with this,i've read this section in the manual but cant get the hang of it so could somebody help?what i want to do is tthis,my school thas a ton of vintage boards so i want to take nmy mp up there and sample certain sounds that i want to keep in my library.....any help?

just plug the outputs into the mpc record ins and that should be it, right?i havent used the sample feature in a long while but thats all I remember having to do

why not sample into a computer or something instead? that way you have PLENTY of space to sample, you can cut the individual sounds up afterwards, throw them on a disk easily and then use them in the mpc when you need them

I agree, just sample a string of notes on to a computer or portable recorder and edit/cut it at home. Then lay them across pads on the mpc.

You don't need to sample every single note, but you should get at least every minor third note or so.

The MPC is far from suited to sample keys, and even on rack samplers it is a long-winded process with trial and error and all that. But if you get good results you can possibly sell them. Mind you, sampling is a science on this level, if not as advanced as quantum physics - or triolithic mospherostisis catalysation, even.

An other option is to just play around and sample the results. Lots of analog sound-fx works in most music styles. With a bit convincing.

yeh sampling the note is one, thing, getting the loop points and envelopes right is another.
