Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

When i try loading my scsi drive up,it says error detected at 6 or something similar,whys this

what kind of drive is it? can you change the id on the drive and try to use that instead of 6? im assuming that's what the 6 is

yes, i can use other drives normally,but it wont let me coz of error on drive 6

Change the scsi ID on the zipdrive to 5, see page 190 of the manual.

Ive tried chaging it, it wont let me do it, it says error detected at scsi drive 6 or something like that, anyone know how i can clear it?

What exactly did you do to change the scsi id on your zip drive?

I seem to remember reading somewhere on these boards that the MPC is internally set to SCSI ID 6, so you can't use that ID for an external SCSI device.

Try setting your SCSI HD to any ID other than 6 (or 5 as well if you're using a ZIP) and see if it works.

You have to select the right ID in the load/save/format page as well...
