Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000
By yekuku Sun Apr 29, 2007 10:48 am
hi guyz,
i am a newbie on the MPC's , i just got a 2000XL but i have experience from using the S series.
I ve done a quick search in the forum but i could not find any useful info about my problem.
I want to load entire volumes from my S1000/3000 cds.
Is this possible?
all i can manage is to load samples from the volume one by one.
i am using OS 1.14
do i need to convert my S1000/3000 cds to a mpc format so that loading volumes could be possible?
i have many drumkits in S1000/3000 format and importing samples one by one to the mpc is out of the question. it will take ages!
any help would be very much appreciated.
thanx in advance

I think from memory that the MPC2000XL user manual states this also.

Depending on what computer you're using then yes, converting of the S-SERIES volumes would be a preferable way to go about that which you're trying to achieve.

As an example on the PC.

I use AWAVE STUDIO and perform the conversion to MPC format from there.

Convert on a computer first if time is an issue.

Hey Rohan,
thanx for helpin me out bro;)
i thought that the mpc was 100 % compatible with legacy akai cd's. Tough luck!
the users manual is not very helpful with this :(
i guess that this means that i have to convert 300+ jungle breaks into mpc format.
thanx for your help ,i really appreciate it.
