i got a question in the mixer area for the mpc 2000 xl. i quick explain how you get into the option window where i've got my question: Mixer > FXedit > there you can chose your effects by turning them on and off > choose the option MIXER which is on the right side on the line and put the orange button open window > now your in the window "Effect Mixer" > there you have the option "Patch" with the options : MOD/ECHO>REVERB, REV>MOD/ECHO, MOD/ECHO+REV. what are diffrences between those options? how do they effect the sound and when do u use which option? can someone explain this to me?

You really should try to RTM before you post

ah, take it easy, it's not like the manual is super-clear on this. i think it has to do with the order of the fx, like whether the signal first goes into the mod/echo and then to the reverb, or whether it goes into the reverb and then into the mod/echo.

^yep

it's the chain order you want the effects to be made in

And that chain order is described in the manual.

NOW, the differences are in your ear and what you like best out of the possible combinations of those chains and orders aren't they?

This is one of those things you have to HEAR for yourself in order to KNOW what sounds good to YOUR ears.

you guys are **** ridiculous. we can have thousands and thousands of threads about what card reader to put in the box, but when someone has a legitimate question about esoteric and poorly-documented effects settings, you want to shut it down? **** that. why don't you pick up your 2k manual, flip to the effects routing page, **** IMAGINE that you don't already know about it, and ask yourself if it would be easy to understand what the **** it's talking about? christ

allright, i guess now the topic is getting out of controle. thanks ascadi for trying to help me out and trying to keep this thread alive. also for the other people who tried to give me some useful answers.

i don't want to be rude but if you ask me, none of u has an exact idea what this option is all about and how it works properly. if you had an idea then you would write some useful informations unless you're a dick or you're too lazy to answer it or you don't want to share your secrets with others. if your a dickhead then don't write shit because nobody needs those informations.

props to those who trie and wanna share theire knowledge with each other.

it's just the effects routing, duder. if you're not used to reading diagrams like that, it can be confusing.

basically, say you have an echo and a flanger going. or whatever. do you want the original beat echoed and then send to the flanger, or do you want the original beat flanged (whooshy noise) and then echoed? they sound different, but there isn't any right or wrong answer.
