Why wont my MPC read my CDs

I have an MPC2000 with an external PLEXTOR 20x CD ROM. The MPC recognizes the CD Rom drive itself, but the wave files dont show up at all. Can someone please tell me what the **** is going on, Pleeease.

i thought mpc2000 can't read .wav files and the xl can

my MPC has the wav. option on it, and I've loaded wav. on it via floppy disk.

goto www.mpc2000xl.com or www.ruggedbeats.com/production and get wav2snd. Make them all .snd's.

The 2000 only reads .snd files. Not .wavs. The 2000xl loads both,.

The old MPC2000 can't read wav files from the CDRom, it can read them from floppies or zip but not via CDRom. You can put the cd in your computer and copy/paste the wavs to a floppy or to a zip, probably a zip would be better because they hold more... and then load the floppy or zip into the mpc and you're set.

i have the same problem. so if we just convert the .wavs to .snd, burn it to cd and load it up, it will work fine?

Damn that hella sucks. I just bought a plextor cd rom off some dude. Does nebody know where to get the software to convert to snd. format. I tried to DL the converter program off RUGGEDBEATS.com, but my CPU was actin funny. Had a hard time being that it was a zip file. Couldnt extract it or something. Any suggestions.
