Loading samples simultaneously

If I save a grip of samples from my PC to a CD, is there any way to load them all at once on my MPC, or do I have to do it one at a time.

Also, if I bought a sample CD off of Ebay with thousands of samples, how can all of them be loaded if the MPC has 16 pads and 4 banks.(Does anyone know if those CDs are any good off of Ebay).

The MPC can hold up to 256 samples, 16 samples per bank x 4 banks x 4 programs = 256. You'll have to load them up idividualy the first time but after that you can save all the programs and sounds and load it all up at once, at least I'm pretty sure you can, I've never needed to load that many samples, not to mention how long that woud take. There is a program called MPC Editor that makes creating programs on your pc real easy, it only costs 30.00. Go to http://www.midicase.com to check it out.

As far as thsoe sample cd's on eBay, I couldn't really say if they were any good but most of em look like copies of samples found on "legitimate" sample sites.

If you have a bunch of them assigned to pads already you can have it set as a program but to do that you need mpc program maker or mpc editor or whatever, or to actually take the time to load them individually and assign them to pads, which will take a while as they said here earlier.

I've heard the number 256, but is this the correct logic? Can the machine only address 256 samples at one time or is it that you only have 256 available to play at any time. True you can only have 4 programs active at a time (drum 1-4), but you can have 24 programs loaded at once. So would this mean you can have 16 samples per bank x 4 banks x 24 programs loaded into memory? The difference is that you can switch a program with one midi command on the fly, otherwise, you would have to stop and reload a new program into memory. Any idea if there is an actual 256 sample limit in memory? I haven't hit this yet, but my live set is expanding and I'm sure I will hit it soon since each track uses a different program (many with unique samples).

256 is the limit but my 16x4x4 was just meant as an example, you can load up to 24 programs as long as you don't exceed the 256 sound limit. If you hold SHIFT and press the F1 key while in the trim screen it will show how many sounds you have loaded up.

is this "mpc editor" running on MAC osX?
