Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I see alot of drum sample zips, cds, and downloads
online. However I'm finding out that the heavyweights in the
game sample most of their drums. What kind of records (breakbeats, soul 33,45 any etc.) are generally used and what kind of equipment is needed(mixing console, pro tools) to sample drums. Is this better than those
samples for sale?

record or cd ? whatever tickles your fancy.
Gear? Turntable mixer/cd player and an MPC will do the trick.

not sure why people always think there's one specific way of doing things. if you hear some drums you like, use them. if you hear some drums on record, sample them and chop them up. if you hear a drum sample cd that you like then use them. there's no rules people.

no there's no special equipment needed to sample. if you have a MPC and an audio source (such as computer, turntable, cd player, mics, etc..) then you're good to go.
