is it my scsi drive or something else?

hi guys , first and foremost i would like to say thank you too all the people who have created this forum, its definitely something good to help out..

okay here is my problem, ive bought an scsi cd burner for m 2000 xl it picks up the drive but it doesnt pick up the files...ive used the akai sample disc and nothing shows up except 5 questions marks right next to type in the load window.. when i go into the format window it shows the type of cdrom device and also the type... but it doesnt load anything .. what could i possibly do? i would appreciate all comments and tips.. thanks again..

the drive is a yamaha cde1000 external cdburner

as far as i know the 2000 doesnt suppurt cd burning.

are you trying to burn files or load files from the cd?

i was never able to use a cd to load files from on my 2000. and im positive the xl dosnt support burning.

nah im not trying to burn at all... im quite aware that the 2000xl wont write to cd,however im looking to use the drive to read files off the cds..any help?

dosnt it have something to do with using akai formatted cd's? i could be wrong but I think I remember reading that somewhere. i think lamp may know more about that.

or try searching for it because i remember something about that a while ago
