See dem rectangular slots on the left? Those are the type of slots to look for. Installation instructions are in your manual too
I have the blue MPC 2000xl and just recently purchased a new ib-m208p 8 output expansion board. I got up to the point where i was attaching the FC-34P (basically the wire sticking out with the black end on the right side....see pic below) to the P340 (basically the black thing in the middle of the pic) port of the XL and noticed that it was kinda loose after putting it in. So, after A LOT of pictures and video comparisons of the P340 port on my MPC and other MPCs, I noticed that there weren't any hinges on the ends to hold the black end (FC-34P) in place of the P340 port, as opposed to the other hinges on the other slots (please look at pic above to see hinges, hinges are found on the P340 port as well, but not mine!). At first, I plugged it into the port, screwed everything back in, and turned on the MPC just to see if it recognized the individual outs.....and it did not. I've been reading the posts and the manual and I do not see the 1/2, 3/4, etc. at the top (thus, is does not recognize it...correct?). Does anyone else have this problem? Am I just trippin'? Is there another way to secure the FC-34P in the P340 port -without- the hinges? Or are the hinges just not supposed to be there....specifically with the blue MCD versions of the 2kxl? Sorry for the long post, just didn't want to leave anything out. Thanks in advance.
