So the Data slider on my MPC doesn't work (didn't when I got it) but it's never really been an issue. I'm just wondering if cats use it much? Is it something you couldn't live without for some reason?
I've read the tip in another thread when triming you can use shift+data slider to move along faster than the jog wheel and I can see that'd be very handy - but that's about it...

I'm getting the card reader soon so I'll have a look at it when I open up the box - any tips for what to look for/how to fix a crapped out slider?
any other reason yr digging the slider?

cheers.

i use it religiously, for triming and Note variation.

^^^^ same here...even tho mine only works if i pull it to one side hard or it doesnt function.

Im still looking for a post i remember that had the replacement NV sliders from a place that didnt cost an arm and a leg.

if someone knows a good spot besides VST to get one please let me know.

Peace,

Rob

^^$15 doesn't sound too bad?

If you don't use it much then theres really no reason to fix it. I only use mine to mess with bass sounds which I do on almost everybeat if I don't use the 16 levels instead.

what sort of work is involved in switching the slider over, i presume it has to be de-soldered from the mainboard, before a new one can be fitted.

I dont use it because it's been broken since I bought it... just thought I'd see how much the rest of y'all use it and it seems to be pretty handy.
