Recording on different tracks

Just a quick question
I know that when you make a beat(seq) that you record to different tracks. I wanted to know should you record to different tracks each sound?

Example: Kick-track 1, second kick-track2, snare-track 3, second snare-track 4, then each sample that has been choped in to 5 parts (tracks 5-10)

like sounds go on the same tracks. Thats how i do it. All kicks on 1, all snares on 2, hats on 3, etc. sometimes I will record ghoasts on another track so i can drop them in and out easy.

Ya that makes sense seperate everythin playa that's why u have 64 tracks on yur XL ya dig! Plus when u track yur sounds u can tweak each individual sound!

yes i generally use 1 track for 1 instrument or part.

yea thats how i do it. but foreal if you got 2 kinds of kicks and 2 kinds of snares try assigning both kicks to one pad and both snares to one pad, etc. but like labworks said, if you want to tweak individually then do them all on seperate tracks.

Word good looking out, I'm thinking that it might be best to put each sound on different tracks, maybe up to 32 different tracks, or at the least 16. That way i could use a 24track pro tools joint and still have room for 8 tracks to spare for vocals and what not.
