Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

i now realize why people say such great things about chopping with the 2k's jogwheel. is it me or is the XL really time consuming for chopping? i noticed that with Zones, you have to see how many chops you want before hand so you can set up your zones... cause when i was in the middle of chopping and wanted to take away or add another zone it makes you start all over again. just wanted to see how others felt when they went thru this change.

Yeah, you just basically have to keep that in mind when you want to use zone edit. I think I can actually chop faster just using 'create new sound'

never worked with the 2k so i couldn't tell you the difference.
you can use the slider for the big moves and the jog wheel for minor adjustments

does the 2k have a preset number of zones?

word

also Soopa you when on the start or end points you can shift and cursor over to make the jog wheel process faster by moving over larger segments

i liked 2k more though cause it was like chop as you go you could keep making new chops when you hear more parts later on

Once u get used to the xl Im sure you will like it better. I used both. when I chop I dont even use zone anymore. I just make mad copies and adjust each one then assign to pads myself

you can chop fast on the 2000 its easy... use a constant zone size and just move the zone location thru out the sample and extract pieces.
