why would everytime i tried to sample, i get static coming thru on one side. my cables are good, i even have the static in my headphones on the same right side.

Something wrong, loosely connected, or dirty with the right out of the source ur sampling from or the right in of ur mpc. Check those and see if u can come up with anything
