Sold it for 600 to a kid that lives next door. i miss that thing, but Ill never buy it back for that price

I bought mine from a deal, and sold it to one of the little brothers in the crew for 350.

I moved to jerz in july, its hard living out here. The price for everything is SO HIGH! and its hard to find a real good job with out a college education. See it was different in Baltimore, it was easier to live. Jobs pay high and the price of everything was low

why the move then?

yea i use a harddrive. speed it crazy. i love it. saves and loads super fast. especially when you're used to usin floppies and how slow they are, when you save/load to a HD, the difference is crazy.

I find it hard to believe that the mcd version will not work with a HD.

can some one support this claim.

I use an hd w/ my emu samples, because i have to 48 GB scsi drives hooked up to them one for my samples. the other for my beats, with everything backed up to my computer for safety, and more safety , dvd back ups

Believe it. I have gone into studios where MCDs (and Studio Plus models) will simply NOT recognize external 9GB scsi hard drives. MPC2000 and MPC2000XL have no problems. With an external scsi hard drive connected to an MPC2000XL-MCD, the sampler will not recognize the hard drive and just -wait- forever. It is unknown why this is so. Again, there is some uknown conflict.

If someone out there has an MPC2000XL-MCD model with an external scsi hard drive in their set-up, and in working order, please let us know. Also, please provide exact details of anything special about your MPC2000XL-MCD and more detail on the make, model, and capacity of their hard drive.

ok. so it is not clear if this even matters.

For those thinking about purchasing an external scsi hard drive, especially those MPC2000XL-MCD and Studio Plus users, be cautious, I am merely sharing other users disappointing experience.

Again, for MPC2000 and MPC2000XL users, the external 9GB scsi hard drive is COMPATIBLE.

I got a 2KXl (OS 1.2) with the internal Microtech PCD-47B SCSI card reader and just got a free external SCSI case w/ a 9Gb hard drive (I just had to mention the free part ). For some reason my MPC only sees 888Mb of the 9Gb hard drive. When I hook the SCSI HD up to my PC, it sees all 9 GB.
I was going to try and put my Zip250 back in the MPC to see if it "sees" whole 9Gb when the HD is hooked up. Maybe there is a conflict with SCSI configuration of the HD and card reader. Right now I got the SCSI ID for the card reader on 1,2,3 and the HD on 4.

^^^ Fixed the problem.

I had to go back to OS 1.14 in order to get the partition parts A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H and I. Now my external SCSI hard drive works great.
Since I found this out, I stuck a 4Gb laptop HD in the 2KXL and it works like a charm also. So now I got a SCSI card reader and an internal hard drive in my MPC.
Now I got to figure out how I'm going to mount it.

when i install 2.5 inch drives in samplers, I use heavy duty velcro, works perfect.

i had an 840mb one

was happy with it until it crashed


im using zips now

theyre dirty, they do the trick, i dont worry about them too much...

just buy CF cards.. They are cheap enough and you could have on or 2 2gb cards with all of your sounds archived on them and one that you save compositions and programs you create on...
