Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

but yeah i saw other questions like this asked in the search but still had to ask just in case i don't know what im doing.
The problem is the second row on pad bank (9-12) is not responding at all and this wouldn't be a problem at all if i didn't use 16 levels. But since i do and the pads are not responding its a huge problem.
My question is what could the problem be?
i read something about the sensor pad and some wire that connects to it
even though ive had this thing 4 6 years im not really good with the technical ish

and my last question is can i fix it myself?
and if not is this expansive to buy the new parts or to take it in to get looked at if it comes to that

thank in advance
peace

Do a pad check:

Hit SHIFT + 5 to get to trim screen, then hit SHIFT + F1.
From there click "memchk" then click "padchk".
Hit the pads and/or rotate the data knob and see if it gives you any values. if it does... then you are good... if not... check the sensor pad connector.

when I got my XL, The first night I used it, the bottom row did the same thing, when it worked fine a few hours before it.

All it was, was the connector for the row was slightly unplugged- must have been dropped in transit?

Open it up and take a look!!

if it turns out that the pad sensor strip is dead or going out its a 3 minute fix once you order the pad sensor sheet from www.mpcstuff.com its about 70 bucks then s&h and tax but its well worth it i ordered mine, took my old one out and put the new one on in 3 mins max pads work like a dream.
