2000 freezes when loading from zip

recently came across a problem when loading sounds off zip on the 2000 it goes to load and just freezes.......its not the drive or disk because i plug it up to the xl and its perfect...i have heard of dust in the unit can cause such problems anyone have anymore information?

I ran into that same problem what i did was I bought a can of air duster took the casing off and gave it a few blasts of air blew that shit out of there and it loaded up fine after that I ain't had no problems since....now try that if it don't work,I don't know what to tell ya!......also blow some air in that scsi port

yes, those can of air makes wonders, I had RAM issues and after a few shoot at the sockets everytjimg was ok.
just don't spray with the can upsidedown
