So i recintly started using a korg micro x as a sound module with my mpc 2000xl. Sometimes as an example ill get up in the middle of making a beat and when i come back my korg is frozen this also happens sometimes when im actually playing sounds. Now i called guitar center and complained that they sold me a faulty synth and guy on the phone tells me my mpc is probley making the korg freeze through some kind of midi error he also tells me that mpc 2000's are know for having a weak midi setup and they are faulty out of the box this sounds fishy to me any know about this or is this guy probley B.S. ing me

the korg freezing is most likely the korg and not a midi crash. if the mpc has a weak midi signal it wont make the korg crash. it will just make it stop responding to your work on the mpc. you should still be able to axcess and change globals on the korg even after a midi error

try setting the midi filter in the mpc, the korg is probably sending and in return upon playback recieving alot of junk patch/automation data. my waldorf xt has done this once

see if it fixes if you unplug the midi cables on the korg... my ASR acts a fool sometimes too, but it is usually that my external control got turned on.
