Hate my Zip Disks / Drive. What should I do?

Hi I've been making beats for 10+ years and I've mainly used the MPC2000XL studio plus w/ 8 outs. I'm at a crossroads though. I hate using zip discs and my old disk drive. Sometimes it doesn't work loading and saving and zip discs are getting too expensive anyway so I'd like to go the route of being able to save my files onto a cd drive or external hards drive.

My question is this.
1. Is there a cd drive that I can install or use an external one that'll convert to the ancient 22 pin that I have now.

or should i bite the bullet and buy an MPC 1000 or a bigger bullet with the MPC 2500?

I'm just up to my neck in zip discs and need to find an easier way to do things.

You got several options if you still got the 2kxl you can get a card reader and move all your zips onto those, and then it makes the transitios to the 25k much easier. Or just keeping riding with the 2kxl with a CF reader

Thanks for your help. are you talking about an external or internal CF reader? Easy to install internal? I guess it goes where my floppy drive is now. Can you tell me where I could find one?

iv had problems with my zipz(some just dont load anymore),, i think if you bump or press on the zip drive while is saveing it can ruin the disk, and someone told me the zips and get demagnitised if you leave um near a speaker. so im going to upgrade to cf when i get the money.
