who would format their zip disks in akai format? i thought FAT was standard.

anywho.. there is a utility within nortin called "disk doctor" also "speed disk" that help to work the problems out of troublesome disks. it's not a solid answer but it works alot of the time.

"speed disk" is the best though cause it can move data from different physical portions of the disk and defrags as well. you can also choose to move different folders to portions of the disk. however, there are other recover utilities around so do a search on google. also, peep out posts about the click of death that have been in this forum and resource iomega.com

Ok I got the Zip 100 made a track hooked it up to my mp2000 and the display said the zip aint ready then I turned the mp off and turned it back on and it recognize the zip was their but it didnt do anything....Finaly a friend told me that i might have blowned the scsi out because I didnt have the mp off when i hooked the zip to it.....He said the mp was on and when i hooked up the mp it blew it out....IS THAT TRUE?? HELP

i feel bad telling you this bro but..

from what you just said it sounds like you did blow the SCSI interface. that's rule #1 of SCSI devices. you'll have to find technician to replace the SCSI fuse.. it's kind of a costly venture but if you wanted you could try instaling an internal ATAPI zip and that might hold you over till you can send it off for repair. it might be better just to bite the bullet now...

SCSI is not a hot swapable format.

yeah I just read up on it on the net and found that out...dam.....well my dad is a electrician so im sure he can solder a new one on but where do i get the fuse from?

~Thats why when I cop the blue XL soon Im not fu$kin wit the SCSI Ima get a internal zip on my XL and a external zip[via usb] for my pc! Sorry to hear that playa!

Yeah I feel you but anyway...How or Where Do i get the fuse to replace the one on the scsi...... Also whats the best Format to save my music on a floppy disc since I cant use my Zip....

At the moment Im using one sequence and turning the tracks on and off to create a hook, verse, intro when Im recording it on the Akai dps 12.......
