Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000
By just_cast Fri Nov 30, 2007 10:27 pm
I have 2000xl and sampled a few things, but then i noticed it plays only in one monitor, i check and i was sampling in stereo and as the monitor it says L/R, I was wondering if there is a way to make it play in both monitors? i made a mistake but now i sample in mono so its in both monitors, but i want to make the other samples play in both monitors!

im having this problem too. When i put the head phones it still comes out in only one side of the speakers. and yes i sampled both left and right jacks but it is only playing through one side.

Convert the stereo sample to 2 mono ones and then discard the one you don't want.

From the TRIM screen, chose f4 PARAMS
Then press OPEN WINDOW
Press f3 CONVRT
Choose STEREO TO MONO
Press NEXT
(name your sound)
Press DO IT

Then your new mono sample will play through both speakers.

So for now on when ever sampling, sample in mono?

Well i converted and its only coming through one side in my head phones.

The 2000/xl can only sample each side at a time (left or right), it won't sum a stereo mix to mono for you. So if you want mono mix samples you have to make them mono before you go into the mpc.

But it sounds like you have an output problem. Have you checked your system by switching around the cables? Or panned samples left/right in the mix screen?

i did a quick sample and i sampled mono. I did one left and then i recorded one right. but the right side in the phones i cant hear nothing, i tried panning. The head phones work just fine.

So when ever i start a new beat i need to sample it in mono. Right?

Wrong...

you can sample both channels at the same exact time [stereo].

make sure you aren't changing the MONITOR option L/R. But rather the

INPUT option. stereo L/R.

you should see TWO volume bars, while monitoring. ...

Thanx man, it must be one of my rca jacks. I still had two bars but only one side would work.

Thanx, il have to see if these pair of speakers i bought will both emit sound.

no problem....

And yea it could be the cables...usually giving them a good wiggle, gets em going...

if not new ones would probably be the better option.
