random filtering????

my mpc 2000 has been acting a little weird from time to time, when tapping a pad to record in/or just tapping it, it sounds like it is filtering after a few hits for one hit, then it will be normal for 2/3 hits then will sound like its been filtered again????????????????????????. it does'nt happen all the time just randomly!

has anyone else experienced this????

Did you try the Full Level button?

maybe the sound is over lapping to cause this phase effect. try setting the pad back to mono mode, so it cuts itself off. And you may also have the filter level modulated by the pad velocity. only thing i can think of is to initialize a new pgm and reload the sample to a clean pad.
