Triming the sample.... need help

I recently bought a 2000xl and I'm having trouble trimming. when i scroll to the point where I want the beginning, I try to play the sample to see if thats where i want it... and it plays from the start of the whole sample not the start of where i scrolled to. It will only play from there if i cut it first. Is there a setting I have turned on or off? I had a 2000 for a while and didn't have this problem. Thanks 4 tha HELP Late, Haz

I tried that. I have the options (all) (zone) (befor st) (befor to) and (after end)
none of those allow me to play from the start of my scroll. I can do it if I trim in (ZONE) and select 1 zone. Is that how the XL works?

make sure you are in trim not zone.

zone mode is the only mode that will allow me to play the sample from my start point. It will not work in trim mode

you are hitting the pads right?

YO.... I'm a **** moron... I wasn't even trying tha pads just the play button

actually go to zone and change it to 1. then put play zone. then you can trim the whole sample how you want to then change it back to how ever many zones you want and slice it. that should solve your problem.
