like i told before, the left row of pads of one of my 2k's was busted a while ago. so i opened the mpc 2 days ago to try do some cleaning..

i found inside:

- dust
- hairs
- grease
- sigaret ash (how tf do you spell this)
- leftovers from pringles chips and pretzels
- more dust

i cleaned the whole thing with small vacuum cleaner and some alcohol based electric appliances cleaning stuff and shit is good as new!

i got this mpc new in store years and years ago, it is my pride and joy, i could almost cry when it broke down.. now my babylove is back!

:D

daayaam, how the heck did all that get in there? the vents on the top of the 2k?! don't mean to sound like someone's mother but smoking with electronics is a no no, leaves residue and crap.
glad you've got it working. you and me both need covers for our machines, I'm in the process of making one now (like the mpcstuff.com covers), for my 2kxl, fitted black fabric and printed buttons on the top.

Man my studio is something to work in, sometimes i spend 20 hours in a row in there, i'm not going to get outside the room to smoke, drink, eat or even jerk-off hehehe.. and don't forget this thing has been standing there for like 9 or 10 years now.. if you think this is dirty, come see see mpc 60 or the asr 10 hahahahhahaha... shit is busted like **** but still bangs like s***!!

I opened mine today. I bought it two days ago and found quite the same things. Dust, sand, grease, hairs... I just gave a bath to the pads and they look like new. Be careful with the air can, my living room is full of dust, sand, grease... anyway, i prefer to see these things on the ground than in my MPC.
