Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

when i record on my xl sometimes the sounds are too long and get cut off or messed up (when i rec+play). my buddy said to hold down the tap tempo note repeat and hit the pads and i should be able to change to 1/8. when i try this nothing happens. its not like my tap tempo note repeat is broken cause when i just tap it once it changes my tempo. got full memory, dont know if that matters at all. any ideas?

he means tap the tap tempo button, on every quarter note of the sample your playing, and it will adjust the sequencer tempo accordingly.

if your tryin to adjust the timing you can do it from the main screen without hitting the tap tempo. just highlight it and turn the jog wheel

tap tempo is easier to get the rough length set, then you can fine tune it with the jog wheel.

i do realize that lol. some have told me you can have your pads to a diff tempo though...

you can have every pad loaded with different tempo phrases. these will be the same irrelevant to the midi clock, unless pitch shifted on internally.
