Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I'm working on incorporating my 2kxl into my live setup at long last, but am having some real issues when stringing 2 patterns together using the Next Sequence function.

The problem lies with Track 7, which is playing back a simple pattern of MIDI notes with long durations to my Virus B. All other tracks play back OK, regardless of them being MIDI or samples.

I've tried cutting the duration of the last note in the first sequence to check if it is a note off issue. No effect - the note dies before the end of the loop, next sequence starts, first note is missing.

It's not a quantize or timing problem, as I've inputted the note using Step edit.

If I run the first sequence on rotation, the note is always there. Move to Next Sequence... the note is dropped.

The second note and so on plays OK and the first note returns when the sequence loops again.

If I try Sudden Next Sequence, still the note is missing

I've moved the note further into the sequence to test the earliest I can successfully get the note to play. Result: 001.01.12

Last thing I've done is a bit of a sanity check - reducing the synth's envelope release to zero (prev. 60) and again dropping the note duration to give an audible note off. Took the MPC out of loop mode and played the 1st sequence straight. Got a couple of percussion hits after the end of the note, so by rights, when I switch on the loop and then use Next Sequence, that note should hit on 001.01.00. Nada!

I've even put the channel priority to High on the Virus and STILL getting that dropped note.

Any ideas? I'm loosing my rag here and it's getting in the way of prepping this set.

Cheers!

try sending track 7 to another device, see if its the nord not receiving or the mpc not sending.

Cheers for the reply! I'm going to have another look next week after the gig. Meantime, I've converted the loop into a song, ditching the second sequence. I can work the in-between section on the DX200.
