Programing the Pads?

On the MPC 2000XL how do you set my samples/pad up to cut each other off? For example, i want pad a1 to cut off a2 and vise versa. My sounds/samples keep overlapping and it sound like a train wreck.

There is a pretty useful thing called - user's manual. Read it!

i bought it used and It didn't come with a manual. That's why i'm on this forum.

thats why you download the user manual. it took me maybe 2 seconds to type it into google and find it.

Open window in the programs param screen over the section that got poly mono and set up your mute groups

No problem, I usually dont answere simple questions like that (Not tryin to play you) But Im goin through the same feelings as you trying to work this reaper program and nobody wants to answere simple questions over at the reaper forum. Jacpot - what's yourt first impression of it ? I've been thinking about trying it myself, but for now on I'm dealing with reason and it's features. You know what they say - 1 small step at a time (or else you forget everything you've learned ha ha) : )

just a tip---press open window any/every time u move the cursor. there are a lot of hidden treats.

One of the best tracking programs I used! Sh!t is MAAADD Dope yo. Im sticking wit this program here. Runs flawless on my slow ass sh!tty laptop. I can even midi sync wit Zero problems. Only reason I tried it was because I kept hearing people talk about it so much. Now I aint lookin back. And I made a few beats on it already totally in Reaper. But I like it more for tracking and mixing, you can do anything you want in reaper
