Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

hey everyone.
so i've been using a multi-card reader with my mpc2000xl now for a long while and it's awesome (i use a 1gig SD card).
this is the reader i'm using:
http://cimplespares.com/product.php?xProd=11312/c834bf4b98d49c577654cabb877d357f

at first,
i'd transfer samples to my SD card from my PC (windows xp) using a little USB-SD card card reader.
it's never failed me.

however...now i have a BIG problem.
i've been using my MAC a lot lately (haven't touched my PC in a bit).
it's a PowerMac dual core 2.3ghz running OSX 10.4.11

anyways,
there's a bunch of samples i got on there, so...
i'll plug it in, throw some files in there...and eject.

when i put my card into my MPC, everything is there how it should be.
i could see ALL my files, BUT...when i try to load my PGM file...it always tells me "Wrong File Format"!!!!

i could load EVERYTHING else. i could load my .ALL files, my .WAV files,
but for some reason it won't let me load that damn PGM file.

i REALLY don't wanna have to make it all over again.

has anyone had the same problem?

any suggestions?

this really blows =(

after i get this working again, i guess i should switch to CF cards right?

thanx everyone,

_chris

p.s.
if i was going to be transferring files a lot to my SD card via PC/Mac,
how should i format the SD card?

because when i bought the card, i didn't really do any type of formating.
i just put it in my PC, put some WAVs in it, and boom...they loaded fine on the MPC =\

I've never used a mac or sd cards with my 2kxl so I couldn't tell you what's up with it, sorry.

something like this happened to me

all i can say is, get another card if you want to transfer between computer and mpc b/c that seems to cause the damage

there's no way to reverse what already happened as far as i know, tough luck

i've had files ruined too with that "wrong file format" sheet

Maybe the pgm file is corrupted, it happens.

fudge

yeah...i just ordered a 1gig Compact Flash card from PNY.COM

hopefully...this solves the problem (that and that i shoulda backed up those files =\

but still...i never expected that.

but...do you guys think transferring files to the card from my MAC had anything to do with it?

i mean...it worked FINE before...ya know what i mean?

i mean...SHOULDN'T you be able to transfer files to cards with a Mac and load up smoothly?
or is it more of a PC action?
