MPC editor

do u partition on the PC or on the MPC?

i'm assuming that if u're gonna be going from PC to MPC back and forth, u should do all formatting and partitioning from the PC before going into the MPC right??

also....u said format to fat OF fat16?

r these 2 completely different types?
if so...which one is better?
u just right click the volume on windows explorer and hit "format" right?
or is there a different/better way to do this.
use them if you see them, fat/fat16

Me, I'm on 2kxl os 1.14, I use 2 x 512mb cf's, have not used the mpc to format in years..... both my cards are pc formatted fat/fat16. I use the above rules I stated and I'm fine, not had any problems in years..

does this apply 2 zip disks 2

If your card is formatted on the MPC and then you go to format it on the PC wont it erase all your sounds and projects?

Just to add my 2 cents - whenever I am about to use MPC Editor, I format USING THE PROGRAM ITSELF EVERY TIME.

So, the flow would be putting a ZIP 100 into my USB ZIP drive on the PC, opening MPC Editor, using it to format the ZIP, then choosing my sounds and assigning to the pads, then naming/exporting the PGM and the sounds in 2000 format to the ZIP.

I have yet to have any issues at all doing it this way. Prior to this, I would just format the ZIP on the MPC, then bring it over to the PC and proceed as above from there.

Yeah, seem like most people are.

Some do try and stuff just doesn't work for them.

I have in several threads explained it exactly how I've done at several peoples cribs and have never had a problem either...
