My akai mpc-2000 (classic) dont recognize my 16MB
i even orderd a new 1 from ebay and it still aint work..

actually sometimes it recognize it with 2 mb some times with 20 some times with 4 and sometimes with 0...

what should i do...
i live in Israel and no 1 here publish it anymore so no support..

when its ok after awhile that i load some samples and start recording a pattern... its starting with some noise (style out of memory noise)..

If you put a 16MB chip in there, you should either see 18MB or 2MB because the 16MB isn't being seen. You shouldn't see 20 or 4. Check p. 166 of the manual for memory configs.

Peace,

If you have the money I would suggest shipping it somewhere to have it looked at, I dont know anywhere around there but there are a few places here in the u.s. that repair mpc's,

tnx
but i think the problem is in the MPC and not in the memory

Actually it can be the memory, if you search the forums there are quite a few posts with problems similar to yours and the fix was different memory, as far as shipping it would depend on how you want to ship it, and whether or not youd have it insured, If you really want to use your MPC the way it is supposed to work I would suggest investing the money in shhipping it and having professionals look at it if all esle fails of course, I dont see it costing more than $100 (u.s.) to ship it insured by certified mail. If Iwere you though I would order new memory and see if it works. Virtual Sounds Technology sells ram as well as mpcstuff.com, I'd go that route because they actually sell memory that is guaranteed compatible with the MPC unlike ebay which is hope that it works.
