AUDIO OUTS

I have a 2000XL ..for the past few days I've noticed that the audio out L/R jacks on the back have been putting out a very low if any signal at all. The red & white RCA plugs are connected to the jacks using Radio Shack brand 1/4 stereo phone adapters. Only through wiggling the cables and gently pulling them in and out do I get the full output from the jacks....when they are all the way in I get nothing...I'm thinking either a bad connection inside the machine, bad adapters (but I've tried 2 sets of brand new ones), or a bad RCA cable... what do you guys think??...Could anybody refer a service center for MPCs preferrably local to NC but if not at least on the East Coast...Heard about VST in Cali but I just didnt want to send my baby that far off...(MPC lovers gotta feel me on that)...Peace

I'm sure that it may be a bad RCA cable.
Also, alot of times, the 1/4" adaptors don't make good contact with the RCA cable. I've had this problem before.
Before you send the MPC out for repair (which it may not need), I would suggest buying the proper 1/4"-to-RCA cable. You can find them at Guitar Center or Sam Ash, or even online.

Yeah definately look into gettin some good cables, its worth the investment. But if that dont work VST is probably the way to go, just pack it up real tight and send that bad boy by fedex overnight or 3 day. The only thing about VST is that if you send it in its gonna take 2 weeks before they even get to it. (I talked to them on friday).....Tough call man

it could be an internal problem...but an easily fixed problem. there are prongs on the inside of the jacks that sometimes get pushed out due to plugging them in and out to much....thats why if youve ever noticed patch cables are round at the tip so that it doesnt push the prong out...if you are comfortable with takin it apart and pushin those prongs back into place for a better connection then you should be good to go...but def dont shove any metal plyers in there lol that could be a bad thing!!!!

Are the adaptors stereo? Try some mono ones or just buy a 1/4"->RCA cable. It's worth it.

Yup! If you got them from radioshack they are more than likely stereo cables. Make sure you're using mono

Thanks all...I'll definitely try all of the troubleshooting tips before sending it away...also heard about Armen's Music shop in NYC anyone familiar??
