Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Hello. I just got my MPC 2000xl and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas as to how to hook up my MPC directly to my computer. I hear that a lot of people have external zip drives that they hook up to their MPC via SCSI, save info on the aip and then hook up their zip to their PC and transfer information. But can't you just hook up the PC and the MPC directly? Thanks....

What's up?
The easiest way to do it is to have one Zip drive on your mpc and one on your computer, then just swap the disks when you need to.
You shouldn't unplug the scsi cables while the mpc is on, it can blow the scsi fuse and you don't want that to happen..

And you really should be all over the manual for the next few weeks.. Basically it has almost everything you need to know. And check out www.mpc2000xl.com also, the best mpc site on the web along with this one.
Have fun with your machine!

there is a scsi to usb adapter, but it is kinda expensive, and u would stil have to hook it up to a zip anyway.

No!
Never hook your MPC to your PC via SCSI.
You will damage a major part of the MPC's internal chipset.
It will cost you money and time to repair.

Look up the Zip disk info here.

Peace.
