connecting more than 2 midi devices

i have a 2000 and am wondering how i would go about doing this..

I would like it so every midi device can be independently recorded without triggering another midi device.

You can daisy chain midi devices. But you are limited to 32 midi channels (16 per midi output).

Get a MIDI patchbay. they usually have 8 ins and 8 outs that can be easily rerouted to each other. you can get a yamaha mjc8 for very little money these days.

daisychaining is okay, but it relies on having a THRU on most of the gear and it can result in MIDI delays - it depends on the size of your setup.
