the other day i was messin with my mpc (xl) and every time i hit this one pad the sample would play through once and then continue to loop by itself until i did something else. i'm just curious if this has happened to anyone else.

now here's the crazy part. i went to save the program and sequence i had just made with the program mentioned above. press shift+f3, save/load page comes up. everythings cool. i go to save and create a new folder. everythings still cool. so then i go to save program and sounds press do it and all of a sudden a sequence starts playing. now this sequence contained the same drum pattern that i laid out and one other sample i put in. but the mpc on its own rechopped my original sample (and i mean CHOPPED) and sequenced it with my drum pattern. the mpc's beat was 10 times better than my own and i was pissed i couldn't save it!!! it stopped playing when i hit a button. WTF is up with that. is my MPC magic or what? if anyone else has experienced this i wanna hear about it.

ha ha that sounds ill!

I've not had anything that drastic happen, but I've had a sample looping itself a couple of times.
Didn't you have anything to record the beat into? I always have my cassette deck ready, just in case something weird happens and I can't save my work. I just connect the mp straight to the deck and voila! Crappy sound quality but it's better than nothing.
