Disk read error!

Whats up ya'll,

I have an MPC 2000. And I have to have the 1.72 o/s floppy disk in the drive in order to
get it going. What does it mean when it says "Disk read error!" ?? Is it the drive or is it the floppy disk which my o/s is saved on??? -does any one have this problem and know the cure?

Create yourself a new floppy.

sounds like its damaged.
