2000XL starting to distort-HELP!

My MPC 2000XL is starting to distort when is plays back. It goes away when I reboot, but eventually comes back. I have expanded the memory to max it out, and I feel like that RAM might be bad, I ordered 2 new 16Mb sticks, do you think this will solve the problem?
Has anyone had this happen to them before? what did you do to solve this?

easy to diagnose. take your ram out now. it comes with 2mb onboard. so load some drums and use it for a while. if the prob doesnt happen. your ram is bad

same thing happend to me. swap out your ram with some with gold connectors that did the trick for me!!
