Can you upgrade your MPC yourself??????

I'll be getting my new MPC 2000xl within the next week. I would like to upgrade the 100 MB internal zip drive to a 250 MB and the 2MB of RAM to 32MB of RAM with a standard SIMM. Is this as easy as upgrading your computer yourself or do you need to send in your MPC to AKAI and have them do it? Thanks.....
