Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

now i've formatted the cf card on the mpc. yes, the mpc can read the card now.yeahhh!!i can save and load files from it. but now my pc can't read the card anymore, because i formatted the card on the mpc :twisted: what the hell!!!it's **** up!!i don't understand this whole shit, why is this so??

iv heard of this happening before. have you tried formatting it as FAT16 that should read/write in both PC and mp

the problem is, the pc can't format the card anymore. he can't read it and can't format it, when i start to format the card he always stops the action and says: windows couldn't finish the format process.ou man, how i hate this shit :twisted: i have no idea why?? i don't know man, i just formated it on the mpc (ATAPI, something like that) and now i can't use it anymore for the pc???

oh really? thats rubbish! have you tried searching computer forums for any information about formatting your card? chances are that someone else has encountered the same problem as you, they may not be trying to use it in the same way as you but may have had trouble formating it. perhaps do a google for 'formating x card FAT16'.

maybe find out how to reformat in DOS and try that and if all else fails consider purchasing a new card?

Do you have v1.20 installed on the MPC? The newest version allows files written in the MPC to be transferred to the computer. It's a minor update, but a VERY welcomed one. MPC files on a Zip disks would get wiped clean if you tried to save/load on the computer.
