Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

it was always interesting to see pete rock in a video working with his mpc and he was turning the data wheel while a sample was being played to either speed it up or slow it down. this was something i always wanted to know how to do but i kept forgetting to ask do you guys know wassup? appreciate it like always!

he just had the sample chopped out in 8th notes. Meaning if you chop a 2 bar loop into 16 even zones this is what youll get. Then he just recorded the sequence, and put the cursor on tempo and just changed the tempo while the beat was still playing. Since its chopped as long as he didnt slow it down to where there were gaps its ganna sound alright.

That video confuses ALOT of people and people assume something without even seeing the actual screen he is on.

It's one of many out there that does that, cause more confusion and questions than it answers or maybe not attempt to answer anything, just showing something without going into detail what it actually being done.
