mpc2kxl doesn't need a bot disk. sounds like you have the 2k. download another boot disk for your 2k and use that to boot up with..

Please turn off your caps lock.

For the XL all you have to do is to make a new disk on your computer, boot from it, and load the OS from the load menu.

For the non-XL, just make a new boot disk using your computer.

nah, tried that there is a difference between boot and o.s. in the 2000 you have your boot and o.s. on the same disk but on my xl the boot is installed in a chip on the mother board thats why you can turn your mpc on and then upgrade your os. im having problems wit my boot i found something on anther site they said it was called boot lock but briefly talked about it and didnt mention how to fix it

Same issue here, boot area has to be corrupted. In other unanswered posts, I have written about my issue where the MPC2000XL doesnt even read my onboard memory. Machine functions fine other than not having any memory. I would like to find out also how to "flash" and MPCs Loader before these machines go extinct and cant be used, I know quite a few users have lost machines and what not because of not being able to fix the loader area on the chip onboard.
