mpc 2000xl, blank screen, all lights on, NEED HELP!!!!!!

I have a problem, I tried to change the floppy to a zip 100 drive. I changed the two, got the necessary ide and power supply cords and installed. Now when I turn my mpc on it just shows a blank screen and all the lights on the mpc are on. WTF!!!!! Is there a step Im over looking? But now when I disconnect the zip drive it still does the same. I heard in a forum that the ide cable may have been backward, but the cable has key holes making that impossible. I NEED HELP!!!!!![*]
