I got my MPC with RAM maxed out but it did not work :( , when i wiped the sticks it worked instantly. I tried with different RAM sticks, none of them initially worked but after the cleaning all of them did.

Good call! In the past I think I used a pencil eraser to clean my friends RAM contacts. Worked fine after that.

Hey on mpcstuf.com, they have used MPC 2000, do you think that there a good deal, because they all have everything brand new replace and I really just want a 2000 that works. Im in Chicago and I contacted 5 different people on craigslist and they eithr sold it right away or never got back 2 me

honestly i doubt the ram is faulty ... but then again my drive didnt work and not even pro's could install my drive ( i took it there and was told it wasnt being registered....however most other people have never had an issue with his drives) i will say one thing - how many ram pieces do u need? only one? cos i have spare 16 mega byte ram i could send u?

in regards to which mpc to get - i have an xl and im kinda regretting not having bought a second hand 2500 (brand new wayy too expensive) if i was u i'd get an xl or 2500- preferably save up more money and get a 2500
