installed zip mpc still searching for floppy??

please help internal zip aint reconized i just installed it and the mpc doesnt see it.i just altered the powercable it worked just pluged in a pc data ribon cable and booted up and no luck..do i need to change settings? or need a special cable cus i notice my ribon cable has two matching sides and i believe the both ends need to be diff...

i aslo bought an external zip but dont have the scsi cable where can i find one cheap?

i know u realy wanna help lamp but im sending this thrue a cell phone and dont have the manual or else i wouldnt be asking for help

how do i know if its atapi drive?

guess im stuck with external untile i find a cheap atapi cardreader

You never said you were on a cell phone. That's one of the biggest problems with people trying to troubleshoot.
Trying to troubleshoot when you are not in the presence of the gear and can actually try stuff out is not a good look.

Atapi is hot swappable, IDE only drives are not hot swappable. You can also look up the specs for your unit online and hopefully find out what it actually is, or ask the store you got it from. If you got it from a person they may/maynot know, back to square one. So for you to actually do all of this you'll need to be in the presence of your gear so you can get these numbers and also try out the hotswappable thingy. See what I mean.

i am actually infront of the mpc just put her floppy back in and she isnt happy :(

i bought the drive for 5 bucks on craigslist and it seems like a working drive the power is there i can eject and inject zip disc just the mpc doesnt reconize it and looks idenical to the ones people are charging 100+ For(RIP OFFS)

looking at the mpc board the connection has no security pin in the middle and the zip does so im wondering if its a cable issue

i even altered a cable buy picking out the security pin with a knife and still No luck

I Came all the way to my moms office to read the manual and it says NOTHING about setting up a internal zip drive and page 153 i knew that info already

it must be a ribon cable issue or my drive just isnt compatable

If your ribbon cable is backwards all lights on your drive will remain on.

Did you do the primary device setup like I told you?

Did you try the different jumper settings on your internal drive? Master, single, single/master with no other drives present.

You have to go through all these growing pains most likely because you didn't search out the info already layed out and solved on the forum.

It's all been said and done on various threads.
