Help Please MPC+MicroKorg

Watsup mpc headz,
I'm having a little trouble connecting everything in my setup. I currently have my MPC 2000XL, a yamaha 16 channel mixer, turntable, e-mu 1616m interface, my laptop running ableton live, and my microKorg. I know there are a million and one ways to run all of this stuff, but all I want to do is be able to make sequences using the sounds from my microKorg onto my MPC 2000, preferably using the pads. I have looked through both manuals countless times, but i cannot get the sound to play unless i am in sample mode on my mpc. I am also midi-challenged and have a real hard time understanding a lot of the jargon. could someone please explain the ideal way to set up my mpc and korg and how they record using this, because i know there are some dedicated microKorg/mpc cats out there.

first u have to turn the local control of the korg off. the microkorg and the mpc have to be on the same midi channel. the korg is not multi-timbre so you can only midi out 1 sound (2 if layered but they will play together. they cant be separated). midi out of the korg to the midi in of the mpc, midi out of the mpc to the midi in of the korg.

I have everything hooked up correctly, local is off on the microkorg, I have the clock from the microKorg synced with the master of the MPC, but still there is no sound when i play or am trying to record on my mpc. I even checked the midi monitor on my mpc and it is picking up signal, but I can't figure out what I need to do. Is this not possible with the mpc 2000xl or is there something I'm doing wrong?

And of course the audio outputs of the mpc and the korg are connected to your mixer right?

unplug the korg's outputs from the mpc, plug them into your mixer...

I agree leave the sounds from the microKorg in the microKorg and make the MPC tell it what to play through MIDI. The In->Out Out->In setup will allow you to play the Korg from the pads as well.

so your saying run both the audio out from the mpg and the microkorg to my mixer and then run the master out of the mixer to my monitors???
