Monophony question

Ok, this is what im trying to do: I want, that when I play a sample slice, and then play another, the first one to stop. Right now the second one would overlay the first one until the first one is done. I believe the correct term for this is monophony (opposite of polyphony right?). How do I make my mpc monophonic?

And yes Ive already searched the manual.

You searched for the wrong term (the mpc does not use monophony), look on pg 126 of your manual it explains exactly what you need.
